Open Bid Opportunities

Purchasing Information
Purchases $20,000 and over require sealed bids and approval from the City Commission. A notice of sealed bid is posted on the website and is generally published in the Morning Sun newspaper. A public bid opening is held for the sealed bids and staff makes recommendations to the City Commission for award of the bid most advantageous to the City.


Business Licenses, Applications, Forms

The City Clerk's Office is responsible for issuing business licenses as prescribed by Title XI, Chapter 110: General Licensing, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Mt. Pleasant.

The City requires a license for each of the following:
  • Auctioneers
  • Circus, Carnivals
  • E-Scooters/E-Skateboards
  • Junk Dealers, Junk Yards
  • Marihuana Licenses
  • Pawn Brokers
  • Pedal Trolleys
  • Peddlers
  • Transient Merchants
  • Mobile Food Service Providers
  • Going out of business
  • Precious Gems and Metals

Elections

The City Clerk's office conducts all Federal, State and local elections held in the City and is responsible for the entire voting process, including; registering qualified voters, maintaining the voter registration files, hiring and training all election workers under their control, issuing absentee ballots for elections, keeping abreast of, and implementing, any new election laws, and ensuring the integrity of the voting process.

Primary Election

  • Election Date: Tuesday, August 6, 2024
  • Early Voting: July 27 – August 4, 2024; 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Voter Registration: Individuals who are not currently registered to vote can register online here or mail in the voter registration found online. This must be completed by July 22, 2024, to vote in the August 6, 2024, primary election.

  • Primary for State and Local Offices


General Election

  • Election Date: Tuesday, November 5, 2024
  • Early Voting: October 26 – November 3, 2024; 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Voter Registration: Individuals who are not currently registered to vote can register online at here or mail in the voter registration found online. This must be completed by October 21, 2024, to vote in the November 5, 2024, primary election.

City of Mt. Pleasant Voting Precincts

City residents can determine the voting precinct in which they vote by checking their voter registration card;  at https://mvic.sos.state.mi.us/; or by calling the City Clerk’s Office at (989)779-5361.

City of Mt. Pleasant precinct locations are:

  • Precinct 1 - Ganiard Elementary School, 101 S. Adams St.
  • Precinct 2 - Pullen Elementary School, 251 S. Brown St.
  • Precinct 3 - Fancher Elementary School, 801 South Kinney Avenue
