Adopt-a-Bench

The Adopt-A-Bench/Table Program offers individuals the opportunity to purchase a bench or table that provides rest and relaxation for park visitors, while recognizing a group or individual in a unique and lasting manner.  Each tax-deductible donation will include an individualized engraved plaque.

How to adopt:
  1. Complete the application and send to the Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Department.
  2. You will be contacted via phone or email to confirm receipt of your request. The Parks and Recreation Commission approves qualified Adopt-a-Bench/Table requests by resolution, allowing for public input and comment.
  3. Once confirmed, patrons will be asked to enter into a maintenance and life-cycle agreement with the City of Mt. Pleasant. Prior to installation an agreed upon location will be selected for the bench or table.
A donated bench/table has a life cycle of 15 years. The price includes the purchase of the bench/table plus shipping, the installation of the bench/table, plaque and 15 years of maintenance. Benches/tables are designed and installed to reflect the character of the parks and blend with existing structures.
