Trade Your Treasures & Large Item Collection Programs to take place in May
March 19, 2015 - Two annual programs, Trade Your Treasures and the Residential Large Item Collection, are designed to help Mt. Pleasant city residents get rid of items cluttering up their homes, garages and basements. The programs are scheduled to take place in May.
Trade Your Treasures - Saturday, May 2 & Sunday, May 3
The Trade Your Treasures program, set for May 2 and 3, is a way for residents to exchange unwanted items with other residents simply by placing the items at the curb.
Residents should place unwanted items at the curbside in front of their homes for trading the mornings of May 2 and 3. Property owners/residents are responsible for the proper disposal of all items not claimed by May 10. Stickers may be purchased to have these items picked up during the Large Item Collection on May 8 (see below). Residents are encouraged to call with a list of items available for trading. The list will be posted on the City’s website and local government cable access channel, so that others may find and take the items during the trading weekend.
Residential Large Item Collection - May 8
City residents who have large items in their homes they wish to dispose of have the opportunity to have those items collected by the City on May 8.
Residents must fill out the form below and take it to the Public Works office or City Hall to purchase a sticker for each item by 4:30 p.m. on May 7. Cost is $10/sticker for each non-Freon item or $35/sticker for each item containing Freon, such as an air conditioner or refrigerator. Sticker(s) must be placed on the item(s) and the item(s) must be set at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on May 8. Stickers are available at City Hall, 320 W. Broadway, and Public Works, 1303 N.
