K-6 CAMP PEAK: June 26 through August 4

Children who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade will experience sports, arts, crafts, creative expression and other daily activities, which are centered on weekly themes that will help campers build new friendships and skills. In addition, field trips are spread out over the various weeks to help the campers gain new experiences.


West Adventure Camp: June 26 through August 4

This program is for children who have completed seventh or eighth grade. Campers will participate in various sports, arts, crafts, creative expression, and cultural and educational enrichment activities. West Adventure Camp offers a unique experience with several planned field trips designed to ensure a fun but educational experience.


School's Out! Summer Camp: June 19-23, August 7-11, August 14-18, August 21-25 & August 28-Sept. 1

These weekly camps are a great way to broaden friendships and teach campers to be independent through interaction in a group environment. Dedicated camp staff will facilitate fun games, activities and field trips. Campers will experience meaningful social interactions through group games and activities that will last a lifetime. Registration is required to participate and space is limited.


Counselors in Training (CIT) - June 26 through August 4

Monday through Friday (times same as PEAK camps)
Cost: $150 City resident fee/$200 non-City resident fee
Registration deadline: June 19

The CIT program is a leadership training program for teens ages 14 and 15 years old. It is designed as on-the-job experience where teens will attend trainings and have the opportunity to participate in program activities. Interested teens must complete this application (also available at the Parks and Recreation Office in City Hall) and participate in an interview process.


CMU Reading Clinic - July 5 through July 27

Monday through Thursday, 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $250 / Scholarship Rate: $100
Registration deadline: June 19

This summer, CMU is again partnering with the Mt. Pleasant PEAK program to provide intensive, individualized, one-to-one tutoring in reading and writing for kindergarten through eighth grade students. The CMU Summer Reading Clinic will take place at Ganiard Elementary July 5 through July 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For further information, contact Dr. Xiaoping Li at 989-774-2581, li2x@cmich.edu. Anyone interested must complete an application, which is available at the Parks and Recreation Office in City Hall or online. This clinic is limited to the first 12 applicants and students receiving a teacher referral will have priority enrollment. The teacher referral form can also be found online.
